Gastric cancer is the 5th most common cancer worldwide. We explore the types of gastric cancer as well risk factors and how a patient with gastric cancer may present. Importantly, we detail how gastric cancer can be classified based on histology. When considering how gastric cancer may spread and subsequent complications it is necessary to consider the anatomical relations and drainage of the stomach.
