A pulmonary embolism is a blood clot in the lungs. Usually it originates from a clot in the legs. Most pulmonary embolisms are resolved but some can be fatal. There are a variety of factors that may cause a pulmonary embolism, which can be present across a range of patients. This video will outline the pathophysiology, clinical features, diagnosis and management of pulmonary embolisms.
